Henny Youngchicken Live at Carnegie Coop |

This video is a tribute to one of the great stand-up comedians
specifically, and all of the great vaudevillian comics in general.
Sometimes a star is born, sometimes a star is constructed with foam and
hot glue!
Our 6'x3' set was redressed with a red fleece (who needs velvet!)
curtain and hung near the ceiling to make plenty of room for the
puppeteer. Sound-wise, puppet movies are easier than live action,
because
we record the sound track first, and play it during the shooting so the
puppets can lip-synch, or in this case, beak-synch.
The camera microphone picks up the sound, which makes editing simpler,
since we just match the sound on the tape to the actual sound track to
line things up.
This one was shot in two basic takes, one long shot and
one close-up. These long takes were broken up when we captured the
video
onto the computer, and further edited as we went along.
