After struggling with keeping pupeteers out of the frame and losing the battle I decided it was time for a puppet stage. While it is still physically challenging to operate the puppets, the stage makes it a lot easier if only because it provides something to hide behind. A blue screen (you can't use a green screen with green frogs) was also added, and it makes a big difference in the look of the video. Thanks to Hillis Wilson we were able to light the blue screen -- he loaned me some color corrected photo lights that are very, very bright, and worked a lot better than taking the lampshades off of every lamp in the house and still not getting bright enough light!
While shooting test shots Ally stood up, and we decided to film the 'Jam Session' just for fun. Ally plays keyboard while the frogs play guitar, bass, and drums.
